Experts Express Concern Over Surge in Cases
In a concerning development, Vietnam has recorded a dramatic surge in COVID-19 infections, with the total number reaching 11,619,990 as of November 15, 2023. This marks the first time since 2021 that the country has witnessed such a high number of cases.
Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, with nearly 45 million new infections and 32,000 deaths reported in the past 28 days alone. As a result, experts are expressing concern over the recent data from Vietnam.
The rise in cases has prompted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to revise its guidelines for COVID-19 isolation and recovery. According to the new guidelines, individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are no longer required to isolate for five days. However, they are still advised to wear a mask in public for at least 10 days after their positive test result.
The situation in Vietnam remains fluid, and health officials are urging the public to take precautions to prevent further spread of the virus. Residents are encouraged to wear masks in crowded areas, maintain social distancing, and stay home if they are feeling unwell.
