Cannes and Berlin Winners to Showcase at 62nd Edition

Anora, Hard Truths, and The Brutalist to Make US Debuts

The 2024 New York Film Festival has announced its main slate lineup, featuring an impressive selection of award-winning films from prestigious festivals such as Cannes and Berlin.

Among the highlights is "Anora," which won the Palme d'Or at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Directed by Sean Baker, the film marks the first American production to claim the top prize since "Taxi Driver" in 1976.

Other notable films in the lineup include Paul Schrader's "Oh Canada," which received the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival, and Andrew Dominik's "Blonde," which won the Berlinale Camera d'Or.

The New York Film Festival's 62nd edition will also showcase several US debuts, including "Hard Truths," a documentary by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, and "The Brutalist," a feature film by Cory Finley.

In addition to the main slate, the New York Film Festival will present a variety of special events, including retrospectives, filmmaker conversations, and panels. The festival will run from September 30 to October 16, 2024.
