Cases Surpass 2022 Outbreak
Australia is experiencing a resurgence of mpox with infections this year surpassing the 2022 outbreak. So far, 152 cases have been recorded.

Rhonda Stuart, director of public health and infection prevention at Monash Health, says unlike in 2022, most new cases in Australia are being acquired locally.
Anyone who thinks they might have mpox, which causes a distinctive rash and lesions, is advised to seek medical advice and isolate.
